I am happy to offer membership to students that have progressed to a point where more throwing and less hands on teaching are required to grow as a potter. This takes anywhere from a single session up to 4 or 5 sessions.
As members students have access to the space for 4-hours/week to do all the throwing, carving and trimming. Students are expected to keep the space as clean as it was when they arrived. Each member will be provided with shelving space to keep their works in progress. Glazing of the pieces runs in parallel with glazing weeks for the class session.
The benefit of having a membership is the availability to the space. You are still scheduled for one day a week but your time allotment is 4-hour instead of 2.5-hour, and the studio availability is 5-weeks per session instead of 4-weeks. The instructor is still in the classes giving pointers and identifying areas of improvement as well as demonstrations on more advanced projects such as lids, collaring in, multi-section pieces…
In addition, if you cannot make your regularly scheduled evening, Sunday afternoons are available as makeup time.
The cost of a 5-week session is $160+GST ($168)
Members that would like to double there studio time can do so for an additional $60+GST ($63) per 5-week session and can attend on there regularly scheduled day and Sundays.
Additional days can be booked by members for $35+GST ($36.75) whenever space is available.
Clay can be purchased;
$30+GST/ 10kg bag of plainsmen 340 & 390 bag ($31.50)
$40+GST/10kg bag of plainsmen 370 & coffee. ($42.00)
which includes everything made being bisqued.
Glazing of the pieces cost varies from $2 – $10 depending on the size. This included final firing to cone 6.
Look at calendar for session dates. There are 10, 5-week session/year.
